She flunked algebra in high school, kind of like the main character (Mia) which is the princess in "The Princess Diaries" Math was her worst subject. When she was in college she hated taking math/algebra. She loved art and thats why she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art's degree. After a while she finally got her Bachelor of Fine Art's degree. Meggin went to college at Indiana University. One of the trips she always went to was the library, everyday she would walk there just to get a book she loved reading and that inspired her to write also! She loved how much effort they put into it and how they were just inspired by so many things all around them. She has also read the Judy Blume books & Jane Austen books! Now she likes to read Mary Stewart, but most of her books are all sold out.

She missed out on a lot of girl books because she was a tomboy and wasn't into that stuff. Such as "Dark is Rising" series, and Lloyd Alexander series. She loved to read a lot of fantasy books. She is now working on tons of books! So most of her fans ask her what was it like in high school, and she responds with same way its like in my books. Once her mom dated one of her teachers, she started writing the Princess Diaries! Now she's just connecting her books to her actual story and her life in the real world. This person on the TV show had an obsession with pop rocks! She didn't think about writing for teens! One day when she was at work and she works with a lot of teens, she watched a lot of teenage shows.

When she was younger she used to pretend she was a princess and her mom & dad were the king & queen.

She also started writing that book because she loved princesses. Just the same as Mia's mom does in the book. What inspired her to write "The Princess Diaries" is after her dad had died her mom started to date one of Meg's teacher. Mostly a lot of her surroundings inspire her to write what she does. In high school she always hated how they were all about sports and wanted everyone to participate. She was one of those people who like to cuddle up and read or write.
